<p>Just think of the possibilities.  Someone becomes a fan of your business because <span style="text-decoration: underline;">they were genuinely interested in what your company offers</span>.  Now, that they have opted in, you can market to them using either e-mail blasts that you write within the system, or emails that you have pre-written.  Of course, you can do a combination of the two.</p>
