One of my recommendations for people is to get onto Facebook to help market their businesses.  However, I often have to caution newbies to go back into the security settings and uncheck the option to display the year of their birth date.  My theory was that identity thieves could use that info along with other info that they could steal elsewhere to steal your identity.  It turns out that I was right.  See this Time article ”Is your Facebook Account a Goldmine for Indentity Thieves”

To fix your profile, it is really easy but a little tricky to find.   In the top left find the Profile button.  Underneath your picture select “Edit My profile“.  Under “Basic Information” just below your birthday is a drop down list.  Select either “Show only month and day in my profile” or “Don’t show my birthday in my profile“.  Then click “Done Editing”
